Programming Preview – 2/10/19

Let’s talk about CrossFit Lite! 

A few weeks ago we started including an alternative workout to the main WOD called CrossFit Lite. These workouts are meant to allow for a high intensity workout without heavy barbell loads or overly complex gymnastics movements. What it doesn’t mean is that it’s an “easier” option to the main WOD. When choosing to do these workouts we want you to still maintain the mindset of constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements….aka: CrossFit!

Now let’s look at this weeks programming preview!

Monday
We are going to start this week with some strength work. Strict press, push press and push jerk. 

Tuesday
Fingers crossed we don’t get enough snow to close down today because this workout is going to be a good one. This longe 5 round workout has a little bit for everyone. Burpees, hang power cleans, Russian KB swings and rowing.

Wednesday
We’re going to dial it back slightly today with a 5 set strength circuit not for time. A combination of lunges, bench press, dips, box jumps and GHD sit ups.

Thursday
Today’s workout is a long amrap couplet. Low rep, light overhead squats and toes to bar will allow for a WOD with constant movement ultimately ending with lots of rounds!

Friday
Week 5 of the Open repeats will serve up a main dish of “Karen” with sides of double unders and muscle ups. 

Saturday and Sunday 
Weekend workouts are always a blast at Back East. Come join us for partner WOD Saturday and Endurance WOD Sunday!
