Member Spotlight – Danielle

Consistency, hard work, dedication and a desire to improve all describe Danielle when it comes to not only CrossFit, but her health and wellness.  Danielle’s CrossFit journey started out like most people’s – intimidated by weights, easing in to new movements and slowly gaining confidence to excel in the sport.  Fast forward a few years and Danielle is still improving each day, learning new skills, getting stronger and acting as such a strong role model for her kids.

We are so fortunate to have Danielle as part of our community here at Back East CrossFit and look forward to much more growth and accomplishments together!

“I have been doing CrossFit for about 5 years now.  Prior to starting CrossFit, I had been going to typical gyms for about 12 years without seeing any significant results.  The change over to CrossFit was a shock to my body, but it has been the best decision that I have ever made.  When I first started CrossFit, lifting a 35 pound bella bar over my head, and doing some of the more “simple” movements (e.g.  power cleans), were really difficult and a bit scary.  Today some movements are still scary, but significantly less so, and the weight I can do now was unimaginable then.  CrossFit has helped me mentally as well.  It’s has been a great release for everyday life and the stressors that come along with it.  I also love that my kids get to see me do something I am so passionate about and they take part in it as well.  No better feeling than having your children look up to you about living a healthy life style.

What makes Back East CrossFit so special to me is my fellow athletes and coaches.  I have met a lot of great people at the gym, and the coaching/instruction at Back East is top notch.   They genuinely want to help you improve and make sure that you enjoy every class.  They are immensely focused on form and have no issues telling you to take some weight off (if necessary) to ensure that you are working safely.   They also have no issue telling you to add weight if they believe that you are capable of lifting heavier and can do it safely; honestly, that push is what you need to keep you going in that upward direction vs. hitting a fitness plateau.  Back East is continually challenging athletes to do something they are good at which helps them realize their full potential. ” – Danielle
